Farmhouse Animal & Nature Sanctuary offers continued care of the animals that currently reside at the property as well as for future animals that may join the Farmhouse family. Many of these animals will live out the remainder of their lives here with us while some adoptable species, such as bunnies and guinea pigs, we will find them forever homes. Our main goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals in our care in a setting as close to what nature intended. Animals arrive for many reasons including neglect, abuse, medically needy or their families simply cannot take care of them any longer. Why they arrive is not as important as how they will live out their lives, feeling safe and loved at the sanctuary.
Farmhouse Animal & Nature Sanctuary grew out of our love for animals and inspired by a dear friend’s commitment to helping animals. She always gave more than she received and taught us that if we listen the animals will tell us what they need. We hope we made her proud by continuing what she started with some ideas of our own tossed in.
As lifelong pet owners and local business owners, we volunteered for many years at a local wild, farm and exotic animal rescue, and later as live in care takers for two years at the same sanctuary. In 2017 we decided we wanted to continue caring for animals in need by offering them a place to live out their lives in as natural a setting as possible. It is our goal to give them a place to feel safe while teaching a new generation the joy of caring for animals.
Education and giving back to the community is very important to us as well. We are offering animal education outreach through our Critter connections bus. The bus will bring our animal ambassadors that love the attention to public events. We also offer education in-reach through our hands on monthly educational class at the sanctuary geared towards teaching at risk students and under served youth and young adults a way of life caring for animals and nature with the intent of peaking their interest in pursuing a career in animal care/vet services and/or horticultural and landscape services. This program will benefit both the person and the animals with one on one attention and care. In addition we offer a monthly community pet food bank, distributing pet food and supplies to our community members in need.
