Our Story

OUR MISSION

Wildlife, Inc., Education & Rehabilitation Center's mission is to preserve and protect native wildlife through education & rehabilitation.

OUR IMPACT

Recently, at a school for autistic children, we presented a program featuring our "education owls." The children exhibited a wide range of responses, from minimal affect to enthusiastic reaction. During the Q&A following the presentation, one young boy asked several relevant and incisive questions. After the presentation, as the presenter was loading the bird carriers into his car, the teacher came out, sobbing. What had provoked her tears? She told us that the child who had asked those questions had not spoken in two yearsThe power of both wild and therapy animals that unlock repressed responses is "magical".

ABOUT US

At Wildlife, Inc., saving wildlife is our unwavering commitment. Since 1988, we have been a beacon of hope for injured and orphaned animals, tirelessly working to provide them with the care they need to thrive. Today, we receive over 4,000 calls each year, standing as the sole rehabilitation facility in our county for birds, mammals, and reptiles across 893 square miles and a population of over 422,000 people in Manatee county but also, from Pinellas and northern Sarasota county.

With our educational programs we reach public and private schools, institutions, and civic organizations to create an appreciation of wildlife, and the necessity of establishing real-world tradeoffs between rapid growth, and the environmental needs of native wildlife. We have always offered programs for both learning and physically challenged children and adults, including students on the autism spectrum, with cerebral palsy, and head trauma injuries.

WE NEED YOU

Our dedication knows no bounds, but we can’t do it without your support. With an annual budget nearing $200,000, we rely solely on the generosity of individuals like you and private grants to continue our vital work. We receive no funding from local, state, or federal governments, making your contribution all the more impactful. By donating to Wildlife, Inc., you become a champion for Florida’s wildlife, ensuring their well-being and survival for generations to come.

Be the one who allows us to continue our essential animal rescue and educational programs!
